So, reading is an addiction. Good.
Online definition of a good book?
A good book tells a compelling story with relatable characters, emotional depth, strong themes, and keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
Our definition?
A story that cannot be put down, that makes the reader smile and, when they finish, feel regret.
Because good reading is deliciously, wonderfully, amazingly addictive. Come and be a supplier.
Now, let’s hear from a writer....
I always wanted to write. I used to write a lot as a kid – lists, short stories, poems – but they were all for me or for homework! But since leaving school, I always wanted to write but it felt like something I would just ‘get round to’, something for the undefined future. But, one day on a cold winter, with the house empty of children, I suddenly decided to start on a story that had been forming in my mind over the past few weeks. And it was glorious. The first page appeared as my internal resistance disappeared, and I just wrote. Two hours later, I had written the first part of my book. It took many more weeks, and some good self talking-to, but the book was suddenly, wonderingly, incredibly done.
I am now writing the second as the first goes into print. The same old fears and blocks remain but they are weaker, more easily scaled. Because … I am a writer.
